'Blooming. A Story About Earth' a solo exhibition by Anna Milczanowska features a new series of pit-fired ceramic sculptures and a monumental, site-specific installation named ‘Dew’.
Working with clay and fired in earth pits in Silesia near her hometown, Milczanowska embraces earth and fire as collaborators. The resulting works bear unique traces of smoke, minerals, and plant matter, making each piece singular.
At the center of the exhibition is the idea of blooming – not as a fleeting moment of fulfillment, but as a continuous process of growth and transformation. Through sculptural forms that remain closely connected to the body and the natural world, Milczanowska reflects on becoming, renewal, and our enduring relationship with the earth.
Suspended throughout the gallery, ‘Dew’ is composed of thousands of hand-formed ceramic beads woven into a cascading structure inspired by roots, networks, and organic systems, transforming the space into an immersive landscape of interconnected growth.
The exhibition is accompanied by a text written by Maria Cristina Didero, the renowned Italian curator, design historian, and former Curatorial Director of Design Miami, whose work focuses on the people and stories behind contemporary design.
