Art historian turned artist, creating pit-fired ceramic objects. A distinctive feature of her work is the use of natural materials and her personal involvement in every stage of the creative process. Milczanowska’s art is strongly tied to nature, crafted in the spirit of zero waste and environmental consciousness. Each of her works is unique, full of emotional impact emerging at every stage of its making. She expands the boundaries of ceramics, approaching it not merely as craft but as a sculptural language of expression. In her process, earth and fire take on the role of co-creators, shaping the final form alongside the artist. The ceramics is characterized by austerity, primal simplicity and natural, and therefore noble, colors of the earth from which they were created. The works are made of clay from the Lower Silesia region and fired in the south of Poland and in Warsaw. Most recently the artist exhibited her work at 1000 Vases, Paris during Paris Design Week and Maison & Objet.
