Zofia Sobolewska Ursic

Working in collectible design and functional art. She studied architecture at the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Die Angewandte Wien), where she worked under the guidance of architects including Wolf Prix (Coop Himmelb(l)au) and Zaha Hadid, and later trained in straw marquetry at Ateliers Lison de Caunes in Paris.
Working primarily with straw marquetry, wood and metal, she develops sculptural furniture at the intersection of craft and material research.

Her works have been presented at NOMAD St. Moritz, Salon Art + Design New York, and during Salone del Mobile in the Rossana Orlandi gallery spaces, with Craftica Gallery. In 2025, she presented her first solo exhibition Nature is a Temple in Warsaw. In 2026, she presented new works at Collect Open at Somerset House, London. She is currently developing new stone works within the Shakti Design Residency in Jaipur (Frozen Music atelier), to be presented at Alcova Milan 2026 and later in New York. Her third edition of the green straw-marquetry cabinet will be presented at Homo Faber 2026 in Venice. A new wall-based work will be presented in September 2026 at the National Museum in Gdańsk. She's currently working on a new project for Nomad Abu Dhabi 2026.
